Perhaps Bellamy here is making an euphemism towards sexual violence and nature, the asserting control maybe referring to dominance or sadism, much differing from the spreading love of the previous line. The use of the pronoun she may also convey a sense of whilst, the world has been mentioned in the other stanza, he also has issues with his partner, and she does not alow him to act in the way he’d desire more.

The chorus' opening line is very reminiscent of that of the band’s 2006 bonus track “ Glorious”: Faith It drives me away Matt  has indeed described the album  Will of the People as Muse’s Greatest Hits: It’s a montage of the best of Muse. It’s a new take on all of those types of genres that we’ve touched on in the past. It’s then likely that the tracks have references to much of Muse’s past work.
